Your Sutyo glasses just arrived — here's everything to know for the first week, from what's in the box to the one gesture that runs the whole thing.
What's in the Box
Every order ships with the same set, regardless of which frame or color you chose:

If anything's missing from your box, that's worth a message to support before you do anything else.
Worth spending five minutes on this now: research on product usability has found that a substantial share of returns happen simply because someone never figured out how to use what they bought, not because the product itself fell short. A few minutes here should rule that out entirely.
The First Time You Put Them On
There's no power button to find, because there isn't one. Sutyo uses automatic wear detection — the moment you put the glasses on, the system is already active. Nothing to hold down, nothing to wait on.
Learning the Gesture
All of the control lives on the left temple, and it comes down to three moves:
- Slide — a continuous slide along the temple shifts the lens smoothly. On LightShift frames, that means moving through the tint range; on ColorShift frames, it means moving through the color range (clear, blue, violet, red).
- Double-tap — jumps between your saved settings, for a fast switch without sliding all the way through.
- Press and hold — instantly returns the lens to its clearest, most transparent state, from any setting.
One clarification worth making up front: LightShift and ColorShift aren't two modes on the same pair — they're two different lens systems, each built into specific frames. Whichever you ordered is the one your glasses run. The gesture works identically either way; only the visual range changes.
Charging, Without Thinking About It
The included cable connects magnetically — there's no port to align or cover to pry open. Attach it, and charging starts automatically. It's worth building into a routine early (by the door, on a nightstand) so it becomes automatic rather than something to remember.
Common First-Week Questions
Do I need an app?
No. Everything runs through the temple gesture — there's no companion app to download or pair.
My lens isn't changing when I slide it — what's wrong?
Check charge level first, and make sure the slide is deliberate rather than a light brush. If it's still not responding, our troubleshooting guide walks through the rest.
Can I adjust the fit?
The two included nose pad pairs are there for exactly this — swap them if the frame feels loose or sits low.
What if I ordered prescription lenses?
Rx orders go through a separate optical review as part of processing, so expect a slightly different timeline than what's covered here.
